The Civilian Instructors Course (CIC) just ended in Ottawa, ON and I would like to congratulate the 11 participants, including Instructors undergoing their renewal course, for their accomplishment and for completing this challenging course. We now have three new Instructors in Ottawa:

Great job to you, we are very proud! Also in Toronto, Billy Austin became a new Instructor as well as Uriah McHaffie in Springfield, Missouri. More participants will complete the course requirements in the next few months.

Our recent Krav Maga Train & Travel programs have been very successful!

 

The upcoming event is set for 12/8 , 2011, through 21/8, 2011. Prospective Applicants should reserve a place ASAP.

 

General

·         You will be training with the top Krav Maga Instructors in the world  Master Master Avi Moyal– IKMF Chairman and head instructor and our Global Instructors Team from Israel.

·         The event is 10 days long.

·         Cost: it is $2500 US (or €1690 Euros)

·         Group of 6 participants coming from same club can apply for a discount.

·         Price includes: Hotel (3 stars; B+B; double occupancy); Touring in Israel; Krav Maga and related training.

·         Other subjects may include: firearms USING PISTOL AND RIFLE; anti-road rage; simulations, etc.

·         Our base city is Tel Aviv.

·         Regular Training Days - 5 hours of practice, appropriate for all levels of participants.

 

Travelling -

·         2 days – Jerusalem, then to the Dead Sea, and Masada fortress.

·         Half-day in Tel Aviv – Jaffa.

·         During the full days of touring we’ll only train for about 2 hours.

Dear all,

Let me wish you a very happy new year and best wishes of health and happiness to all of you and your families!

2010 was a fantastic year, a key year indeed for IKMF as a whole and for IKMF in Canada. Many changes occured in the spring, that led to a better, stronger structure for our federation, which is now led by Avi Moyal backed up by some of the best Experts worldwide including Haim Sasson, Amnon Darsa, Israel Tamir, Tamir Gilad and many others, also the best tactical instructors in the world who have began a partnership with us, in particular Ofer Rozenman, an authority in SWAT training and counter-terrorism who is now working with IKMF.

In March 2010 I was granted the great honour by Avi to be appointed Director of IKMF Canada and two months later I took a leap of faith and resigned from my position as Executive Director of a mental health organization to run Krav Maga Ottawa and IKMF Canada full-time, a decision I have not regretted for a second!

Let me give you a sneak preview of what 2011 will be like.

First of all, our IKMF family is getting bigger and IKMF Vancouver will be opening its door this winter (hopefully in February) under the leadership of Ariel Lewinski and Jeff Thornhill. Welcome to the family! Also this winter, Raffi Kashani (Expert level Instructor) will be starting classes for children and youth in Toronto.

Krav maga Ottawa and Toronto will be teaching special seminars to Law Enforcement personnal as Toronto Instructor Chris Gagne and myself have completed our certifications in the field. KM Ottawa has concluded a partnership with Algonquin College for a series of seminars in the winter and spring for civilians and police foundation students.

In April, Avi Moyal will be leading seminars in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. In July and August, the first ever Civilian Instructor Certification (CIC) course in the Nation Capital will be offered in Ottawa by Experts from the Global Instructors Team (GIT). At the end of July, a special 3 days outdoor seminar will be offered at my house and ran by a GIT Instructor.

Also in March KM Ottawa will be testing a new "batch" of P1 students, who will then join the intermediate/advanced group and we will be starting a new beginners session. In June, all levels will be tested.

As you see it will be a busy year for IKMF Canada, an exciting one too, and I hope to see our family grow and our classes get crowded. You are only as good as you train so come often and give your 100 % always and you will see the results!

Shooting session with Ofer Rozenman

Laurent Mougeot, Director of IKMF Canada and Head Instructor of Krav Maga Ottawa, just returned from Cleburne, Texas, where he trained for ten days with Master Avi Moyal, Amnon Darsa (Expert 5) and Ofer Rozenman and became certified as a Krav Maga Law Enforcement Instructor. The training was very difficult and intense and included Krav Maga techniques for Law Enforcement but also shooting and combat tactics with firearms. M. Rozenman, who was in charge of the tactical aspect of the course, is one of the world authority in the field of SWAT and anti-terrorism and teaches special units worldwide.

M. Mougeot also succesfully tested for the rank of G5 with Amnon Darsa. In 2011, Krav Maga Ottawa intends to start teaching Security professionals.
